Rising damp treatment Málaga

Rising damp generally affects any building that is at ground level: basements, garages, single-family houses, etc.

Damage can be seen both indoors and outdoors.

It is a type of damp that comes from the subsoil. The damp rises up the wall and penetrates the building materials, damaging the existing coat of paint.

However, at proPERLA® we have the best method to prevent it in Málaga.

What is rising damp and how to treat it

Rising damp affects all types of buildings. It comes from the ground and mainly affects ground floors.

Where it does most damage is in buildings made of porous materials, such as brick and mortar, because moisture penetrates more easily. In addition, the moisture from the soil carries salts that accelerate the destructive effect.

The damage, as well as being visible (deterioration of paint, plaster or wallpaper), can be very costly to repair.

Prevention is always more effective and cheaper than repair.

This treatment works as a preventive measure. In other words, if your wall has already problems with rising damp, it requires apply our product and then a rehabilitation of the facade.

The treatment consists of injecting the cream through small holes made in the lower part of the wall.

How do we fix rising damp?

Our applicators first inspect the wall to find out the extent of the damage and the best way to tackle the job.

Next, small holes are drilled in the wall and the damp-proofing cream is injected into the wall.

Afterwards, the holes are covered using a water-repellent mortar and the final touch is given with our proPERLA® water-repellent paint, respecting the original colour of the façade.

Your wall now contains a protective barrier against rising damp and has no visible signs of damp.
